The Harz is a highland area in northern Germany located across parts of Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia with its highest summit, the Brocken, at 1141.1 meters.The Harz region is 110 kilometers long, 35 kilometers wide and includes 2226 square kilometers. Its most important peaks are the Brocken, the Heinrichshöhe, the Königsberg, the Acker-Bruchberg and the Achtermannshöhe.
