Een leuke trip waar je veel te zien krijgt, zeker als je in een resort bent ondergebracht. Er zit wel een ‘maar’ aan, de reistijd naar en van Blue Mountains. Vanuit ons resort in Montego Bay dik 4 uur heen en 4 uur terug. Samen met de tijd ter plaatste een trip van 13-14 uur. We vonden dat het waard maar mocht je opzien tegen de bustocht dan moet je dat zeker meenemen in je beslissing.

Het Blue Mountains gebied is prachtig met mooie uitzichten over de bergen. De nevel of de wolken boven het nationaal park geven soms schitterende effecten. Ik had gerekend op een excursie van ongeveer 8 á 9 uur, maar het werden er bijna 13 uur. Ik vroeg de bestuurder 's ochtends hoe laat we ongeveer terug zouden zijn en hij antwoordde: tussen 17 en 18. Het werd bijna 20 uur. De tour zonder biking or hiking is gewoonweg te veel en te lang in de bus zitten. Ik heb bijna 11 uur gezeten.

Marcus adds “don't worry – it's a deep rocky pool with a waterfall flowing into it – not a swirling vortex! It's locally known as the Fountain of Youth, so come swim off a few years.” Round off the tour by making a lasting impact on the local greenery. You'll plant a tree as part of a programme to support reforestation and sustainable farming in this part of Jamaica.
